Brian is Chief Technology Officer at Rokk3r. Brian defines, implements and supports the core technologies, infrastructure and technology delivery of Rokk3r companies. He cross-pollinates technologies and standards across Rokk3r portfolio companies, and leads the invention of new engineering solutions. Brian leads the empowerment of the company’s engineering teams through an inspirational culture focused on execution, quality and happiness. Previously, Brian co-founded 5DPI Media, where he led technology research, created rapid prototyping frameworks, worked on distributed computing problems, large-scale system design, networking, security and data compression. He helped create over 20 software products and platforms for enterprises and small-to-medium sized businesses across multiple industries.

Which exponential technologies are bound to have the greatest impact on industries and daily life?

Machine Learning impacts most industries in the form of time-savings or cost reduction of a process. Commercial Space Travel impacts the travel industry, if we can traverse the globe in 30 minutes I think that's going to be exciting. Quantum Computing - Calculations on traditional machines that may take hours now only take seconds. Quantum Communications - better encryption, faster hardware, software, leading to more secure and faster networks across the globe.

AR/VR - VR - New virtual experiences/entertainment. AR - Productivity (in physical/office environments), Social Engagement, Experiences, Entertainment. Vertical Farming - Higher quality yields, more food per square mile. Robotics - Automation, optimization of factories / physical interactions (e.g. stocking items, delivering boxes). CRISPR - Therapies, Diagnosis, Possible cures for certain diseases, etc.

Superconductors - Better motors/generators, medical imaging, power transmission. High-Density Batteries / Nuclear Batteries - IoT reliability, improvements in electronics packaging/sizing. Carbon Capture - Climate change mitigation technologies (carbon capture/recycling, methane capture, etc.) in general would improve quality of life and preserve this planet for future generations.
